The Air Chariot was first released boxed in U.S. toy stores in 1986, along with the Cobra Emperor, Serpentor. It was also sold in 1987 and was discontinued domestically in 1988.

In 1988, the Air Chariot was available with Serpentor as a mail-order offer from Hasbro Direct.
